Deputy Minister Mfeketo to host the Post Africa Cup Amateur Tournament Award Ceremony

The Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms Nomaindiya Mfeketo, will be hosting the Post Africa Cup Amateur Tournament Award Ceremony Cape Town, Western Cape Province on the 3rd of December 2017.

As part of upholding the principles of both African Union and Southern African Development Community, the tournament is aimed at promoting social cohesion between South African government and participating countries through cultural and sport diplomacy. The tournament is an annual soccer competition take place in partnership with Umanyano Africa Cup Football from October 2017 to December 2017 at Portuguese Club Stadium in Cape Town.  It features 16 soccer teams, 14 are from Africa and the remaining two are from the French and the Portuguese Republics. This year’s tournament will be held under the theme:  “O.R Tambo as a Social Cohesion, Unity and Peace in Africa and the world champion.”

The main aim of the award ceremony is to create a platform to recognise the role that both foreign nationals and locals play in fostering human relations amongst themselves.
