The SADC Double Troika Summit commences

The Extraordinary Summit of the SADC Double Troika will commence this afternoon, Friday, 18 August 2017, in Pretoria. The Summit is expected to consider the political and security situation in the region.

The Summit is also expected to consider the Concept Paper on the SADC Peace Fund and applications by the Union of Comoros and the Republic of Burundi for membership of SADC. The Double Troika consists of the following countries: Swaziland, Botswana, South Africa, Tanzania, Mozambique and Angola.

The Summit will meet in camera.

The media are invited to the opening ceremony of the 37th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government as follows:

Time: 19h30

Venue: DIRCO Conference Centre, OR Tambo Building, 460 Soutpansberg Road, Pretoria

NB: All media are expected to have collected their SADC media accreditation cards prior to arrival at OR Tambo Building.
