South Africa condemns the terrorist attack in New York City

The South African Government unequivocally condemns the terrorist attack in New York City, United States of America, on 31 October 2017, which has caused the death of eight innocent civilians and injured many others.

On behalf of the Government and the people of South Africa, H. E. President Jacob Zuma extends his heartfelt condolences to the Government and the people of the United States, particularly to the families and loved ones of the deceased, and wishes those injured a speedy recovery.

Acts of terrorism have no place in society and constitute a threat to development, peace and security. The South African Government reiterates its solidarity and commitment to the international community’s fight against the scourge of terrorism.
