Deputy President Mabuza arrives in the Republic of Uganda on South Sudan Special Envoy Mission
Deputy President David Mabuza as Special Envoy to South Sudan today, 07 December 2018, arrives in Entebbe International Airport, in the Republic of Uganda ahead of the bilateral political discussion with President Yoweri Museveni.
Deputy President Mabuza was received by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Henry Okello Oryem of the Republic of Uganda, the South African High Commissioner to Uganda, Prof. Major-General (Rtd) Lekoa Solly Mollo and other senior government officials.
The meeting between Deputy President Mabuza and President Museveni takes place in the context of consolidating political discussions with member states of the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) on efforts towards finding lasting peace and stability for the people of South Sudan.
Following the successful bilateral political talks held with President Uhuru Kenyatta of the Republic of Kenya, Deputy President Mabuza will during his second leg of his tri-Nation Working Visit update President Museveni on progress achieved in the facilitation of the peace process that will result in the full implementation of the Revitalised Peace Agreement on South Sudan.
The Working Visit by Deputy President Mabuza will further provide impetus to strengthen ongoing efforts towards reconstruction and development for the Republic of South Sudan. Furthermore, the visit will reinforce efforts for humanitarian assistance for the people of South Sudan in order to sustain the prevailing peace and stability in the country.
Deputy President Mabuza will on conclusion of his visit to the Republic of Uganda, depart for Khartoum in the Republic of Sudan, to hold bilateral political talks with President Omar Al Bashir to round-off his tri-Nation Working Visit as Special Envoy to South Sudan.
