President Ramaphosa to meet members of the diplomatic corps

President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Friday, 14 September 2018, meet members of the diplomatic community accredited to South Africa, including Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Consuls-General and Charges d’Affaires.

It is expected that President Ramaphosa will brief the diplomats about South Africa’s efforts to play an active and constructive role in the pursuit of its foreign policy vision of “African continent which is prosperous, peaceful, democratic, non-racial, non-sexist and united and which aspires to a world that is just and equitable.”

The meeting takes place ahead of the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, scheduled to begin on 18 September 2018. The President will also speak to the diplomats about some of the priorities and programmes of the South African government, including the upcoming Investment Summit. Furthermore, President Ramaphosa is expected to make comments directed at the international community about the ongoing process relating to land redistribution.
