Bangladesh plane crash in Nepal's Kathmandu airport.

The South African Government is deeply saddened to learn that on 12 March 2018, a Bangladeshi aircraft, carrying 67 passengers and four crew members crashed, on landing at Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, killing at least 50 people.

On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of South Africa, President Ramaphosa wishes to extend his sincere condolences to the Governments and Peoples of Bangladesh and Nepal on the tragic loss of life, and wish the injured a speedy recovery.

The South African Government and its people stand with the people of Bangladesh and Nepal, particularly the families of the deceased, during this time of mourning.
