Minister Pandor to lead webinar commemorating UN Day

The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor, is scheduled to lead a webinar on Friday, 30 October 2020, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the formation of the United Nations (UN). UN Day marks the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter.

The 75th anniversary of the UN this year is a seminal milestone for the organisation.

The webinar will explore how multilateralism and the multilateral system, especially the UN, can better and more effectively deliver on and address global challenges to create a better life for all in the global context.

Other panellists include:

  • Ms Nardos Bekele-Thomas, UN Resident Coordinator in South Africa
  • Professor Tawana Kupe, Vice-Chancellor and Principal, University of Pretoria
  • Ms Elizabeth Sidiropoulos, Chief Executive, South African Institute of International Affairs.
