The   following documents are required for citizens applying for a visa to South Africa:

  • Visa Application form
  • Passport
  • Yellow Fever Certificate
  • Invitation letter from South Africa
  • Copies of the ticket
  • 1 passport size photo
  • A letter from a local institution supporting the application
As of 1 October 2014, when parents are travelling with a child, such parents must produce an unabridged birth certificate of the child reflecting the particulars of the parents of the child. Provision is also made for one parent travelling with a child and where one parent or both parents are deceased or the child is travelling with a relative or another person.

Fees: 32 000 XOF for an ordinary passport. Service and Diplomatic passports are exempted.

Duration:  It takes about five (5) days for the visa to be processed.
