The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa has indentified a need to upgrade its signalling infrastructure to increase line capacity and enhance the safety and reliability of the commuter train service in South Africa.

PRASA invites bidders to submit proposals for the Installation of the New Railway Signalling System and associated Civil, Perway, Electrical and Telecommunication works for the Gauteng Region.

Bidders shall be:

a) Registered as 8CE, or higher with CIDB;

b) Registered as 8GB or higher with CIDB;

c) Registered as 9EP and 9EB or higher with CIDB

The Bid document is available on payment of a bid fee of R10 000, 00 which must be deposited into the PRASA Cheque Account 20261 0241 with Standard Bank, Branch 004805 and the reference is the bidders name and HO/INF(S)/249/04/2012. To collect the bid document Bidders must bring their proof of payment of the bid fee and collect tender document, at 1st Floor PRASA House 1040 Burnett Street Hatfield Pretoria from 16 April 2012 from 12pm.

A compulsory briefing session will be held on 20 April 2012 at 10am at Leriba Hotel, No 245 End Avenue, Clubview, Centurion, Pretoria and a compulsory site visit will be held in Gauteng from 23 to 25 April 2012 at 10am at Gauteng.
