Dear Reader,

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Website of the South African High Commission in Namibia. South Africa is the gateway to Africa and is guided by the basic African philosophy of “Ubuntu” with fundamental values of, amongst others: - humility, solidarity, integrity, hospitality, respect, service, love and care.

In these pages you will discover a South Africa that offers the best investment opportunities in Africa with its stable economic and political environment; investor and business friendly legal and policy frameworks; attractive investment incentives; advanced and diverse industrial sector and sophisticated infrastructure and telecommunications.

This website and its links is but a small window into South Africa often referred to as ‘A World in One Country’ which is the most beautiful and the best Tourism destination in Africa, united in its diversity with a rich and painful history and a hospitable people in their 11 different official languages and vibrant and colourful cultures. You will enjoy the most amazing experience of the dizzying heights of our mountains such as the Table Mountain and the Drakensberg; be with Nature in our Game Reserves; swim in the tranquil of where the two Oceans, Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet; enjoy a “braai” (barbecue) and African delicious cuisines under our blue skies while dancing to the beautiful melodies of our music and rhythms of our drums; taste the best wines and local drinks and enjoy yourself like never before.

Through these pages you will learn about the close and warm relations between South Africa and Namibia. The relation which is build out of common history of struggle against apartheid and colonialism and entrenched by our common culture and heritage; cemented by strong bonds of bilateral, economic, and political relations between the two respective nations.

The Consular Section will provide you with all the information you need for your first or next exciting visit to our beautiful country.
