Media Advisory: Accreditation for the Franco-Africa Summit, France, 14 - 16 February 2007

Media are kindly requested to apply for accreditation for the forthcoming Franco-Africa Summit on 15 February 2007 in France as follows:

An accreditation procedure will be opened on 10 January 2007 and will continue to be available until 8 February for members of the press.

French journalists with a valid press card and foreign correspondents with French accreditation and holding cards issued by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs should apply to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs via Internet at http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/fr/ ("France Diplomatie" website, site area "Salle de presse" [press room], index "Espace pour les journalistes" [journalists' area]). Applications from technical personnel not holding press cards can also be submitted in this way.

Journalists working for foreign media organisations and without French Ministry of Foreign Affairs accreditation must submit their application - attaching a copy of their press card - through the Paris Embassy of the country where the media organisation for which they are working is based, or, in the case of freelance journalists, through the Paris Embassy of their country of origin. The embassies should pass on these applications - a form for which is attached to the present note verbale and which can be downloaded on the France Diplomatie website - to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris.

Journalists will be able to obtain relevant additional information from the Accreditations Office:
