South Africa and Mozambique have long and rich historical relations. Mozambique was one of the main supporters of the liberation struggle in South Africa. Due to geographical proximity many South Africans reside in Mozambique and many Mozambicans reside in South Africa. The close relations between the two governments add to the warm people-to-people relations. South Africa and Mozambique continue to strengthen relations on the political, economic and social levels and the African Agenda is a priority.
