Courtesy Visit by Mr Abdullah Ibrahim to the South African Consulate General in Munich.
Mr Abdullah Ibrahim paid a courtesy visit to the South African Consulate General in Munich on 12 September 2016, in preparation for the Consulate’s Heritage Month Concert in honour of Mr Ibrahim’s musical legacy. The Consulate was excited and honoured to welcome Mr Ibrahim, as we
look forward to his Heritage Month Concert on 22 September 2016.
Wines of South Africa (WOSA) Sommelier Cup in Munich on 19 July 2016
As part of the Mission’s Trade and Investment activities, the South African Consulate General in Munich participated in the Sommelier Cup - Wine Tasting and Promotion Event in collaboration with Wines of South Africa to promote SA exports in the Wine, Food and Beverages sector.
Information Seminar on Science and Research in Baden Württemberg on 14 July 2016 in Stuttgart
The Consul General was invited to make a presentation on Science and Research in South Africa for the Information Seminar on Science and Research focussing on Botswana, South Africa and Namibia on 14 July 2016 in Stuttgart.

Business Women’s Networking Luncheon on the 12th of August 2016

In celebrating Women’s Month, the South African Consulate General in Munich hosted a Business Women’s Networking Luncheon on the 12th of August 2016. The Consulate invited the Mission’s different female stakeholders and partners in the various sectors of business, media and society. The afternoon was a celebration of the key role and contribution made by all the female stakeholders and partners of the Consulate, in strengthening bilateral and trade relations between South Africa and Germany.

South African Consulate General’s Nelson Mandela Day Activities in Stuttgart

On Nelson Mandela Day, in partnership with the South African Consulate General in Munich, JAM Germany, together with a group of children from the learning center of the GOSPEL FORUM Stuttgart visited the Haus Martin, a residence for the elderly. The children had prepared a quiz on Nelson Mandela, which led to a joyful guessing game among the seniors. In addition, the children performed a rap song and distributed homemade biscuits and handcrafted cards. It was nice to see how pleased the elderly were about this joyful afternoon which was a welcome change. The children enjoyed that they could do something good for the elderly quite in the spirit of Nelson Mandela.

Long Nights of Consulates in Munich on 07 July 2016
The South African Consulate General in Munich participated at the Long Nights of Consulates in Munich on 07 July 2016 from 18:00 to 22:00 hosted by MERKUR Bank, the office of the Honorary Consul General for Mozambique. South Africa shared the venue with Consulates from Mali, Ghana, Slovenia and Mozambique. Activities of the night included a wine tasting of South African wines and the dispersing of tourism pamphlets.
IFAT Trade Fair on Environmental Technologies on 01 June 2016
On 01 June 2016, Consul General George Monyemangene was invited to speak at the special South Africa IFAT, which focussed on the various areas of cooperation in the South African Market for Environmental Technologies. Not only is IFAT the place to network and see major new product developments in the environmental sector, the fair also provides a critical opportunity to meet the most important decision-makers from relevant  associations as well as the business and political spheres.
The Fair Handeln: Exhibition on Fair Trade on 31 April 2016 at the Messe in Stuttgart
The Fair Handeln in Stuttgart on 31 April 2016. Fair Handeln focuses on fair trade and globally responsible and sustainable trade and activities in business, finance, tourism, consumption and development cooperation. It is Germany's oldest and most important trade and consumer exhibition where the Consulate interacted with many South African companies doing business in Germany.
Freedom Day Celebrations on 28 April 2016 in Munich
In celebration of the 22nd Anniversary of Freedom in South Africa, the Consulate General in Munich hosted a reception to commemorate the event. This Freedom Day function was held on Thursday, 28 April 2016 at 18h00 at the Bavarian Industry Association, Haus der Wirtschaft. The reception provided the Consulate General with a platform to disseminate information with key stakeholders and in particular the business sector, making this an express occasion not only to celebrate our National Day but to convey key messages from our government. The National Day was conducted in collaboration with Wines of South Africa (WOSA), who conducted wine-tasting at their popular wine-bar set up for the evening, South African Airways (SAA) as well as South African Tourism (SAT).
