relations between South Africa and Lesotho were established in 1987 at Trade Representative
level. As from 1 December 1992 relations were upgraded to Ambassadorial level.
On 16 June 1994 relations were established at High Commission level when South

Requirements for South Africans No visas are required by South African
citizens who visit Lesotho for less than three weeks. If the visit extends beyond
three weeks a visa can be obtained (free of charge) from the Lesotho High Commission or at the border
