Health Requirements

A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required. Malaria prophylaxis is highly recommended.

Climate Info

The whole country is rugged, with the highest parts, over 2000 m above sea level, to the west. To the east the land slopes towards various marshy lakes which form the border with Tanzania. The climate is tropical with annual rainfall between 800 to 1400 mm.

The monetary unit is the Rwandan Franc (RWF), divided into 100 centimes. The currency is not freely convertible.
