History of Relations

Diplomatic relations with Suriname were established on 3 February 1995. From 1999 to 2013 the South African High Commission in Kingston, Jamaica, was accredited to Suriname on a non-residential basis. In 2013 South African representation to Suriname was relocated to the South African High Commission in Port of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
