Condolence message to Chabane family from Ambassador Smuts Ngonyama and staff at South African embassy in Madrid, Spain

Ambassador Smuts Ngonyama and the South African Embassy staff in Madrid, Spain would like to express their deepest condolences to the Chabane family on the untimely passing on of our compatriot, the Minister of Public Service and Administration- Mr Collins Chabane.

While we understand that it is very difficult to come to terms with parting way with such an important member of your family, you should also know that your loss is felt by all of us, especially that Minister Chabane was in the forefront in the development of an important tool of monitoring and evaluation for our Government system.

May his soul rest in peace and our prayers are with the Chabane family, including families of the two security personnel who also tragically lost their lives along with that of Minister Chabane on Sunday, 15 March 2015.

In one of his many eloquent quotes, Former President Mandela once said the following about mortality: “Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace”.

Such is an apt description of the life of Minister Chabane.

Mintirho ya vulavula! Mintirho ya nwina hi ivonile. Ha khentsa. U exela kahle mutukulo wa ka Mhinga.

LALA NGOXOLO – REST IN PEACE
